Print Fleet DCA Pulse
As we enter the final stretch of 2018 everyone is winding down to reflect on what has been and what is to come in 2019. An area that impacts all of us is the right to security of personal information and the responsibility of companies to protect personal information, especially in light of all of the data breaches experienced in 2018. The idea is that new and exciting things are planned for the New Year.
One of the new data security regulations for South Africa will be the implementation of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This act follows closely on the heels of the European GDPR act of a similar nature and governs the collection, use and storage of personal information.
Companies and departments within companies need to reassess how they have been processing and storing customer/clients’ personal information. This POPI compliance is the responsibility of everyone within the organisation.
How is Print Fleet safe guarding information?
Print Fleet’s next generation data collection agent – DCA Pulse
“DCA Pulse only collects critical device data necessary to manage print environments. At no point is any personal or user information collected. For additional security, DCA Pulse exclusively uses hypertext transport protocol secure (HTTPS) to encrypt and protect data during transmission to PrintFleet Optimizer. All communication with PrintFleet Optimizer and PrintFleet Central is initiated by DCA Pulse and typically no special firewall configuration is required.”
